As
we all know that food from plant has their own shape because of the fiber
content in them. Fiber that comes from plant and that can be eaten is called dietary
fiber.
Fiber
is a general name, there are so many kinds of fiber but all can be classified
into two major groups namely, soluble
and insoluble fiber.
Soluble fiber: This are fibers that help
to control the body weight because it bulk up when mixed with water and gives a
sense of fullness without increasing the calories content in the food. It
sticking substance makes it easier to lubricate the intestine to help the in
elimination of the stool and at the same time help to remove waste and
coprostasis in the intestine.
Insoluble fiber: This improves normal
function of the intestine, lower the risk of colon cancer and assist the
movement of the intestine with the toxin removal. It also helps to control
blood sugar.
