β-Carotene



         
β-Carotene is a strongly colored red-orange pigment abundant in plants and fruits. It is an organic compound and chemically is classified as a hydrocarbon and specifically as aterpenoid (isoprenoid), reflecting its derivation from isoprene units. β-Carotene is biosynthesized from geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate.

The carrot is a very good example of β-Carotene because it contains large number of its which can be converted into vitamin A after it ingestion into the digestive organs.
Medical experts indicate that vitamin A can accelerate the cell division and help body growth. It is essential for maintaining the normal growth of bones, teeth, eyesight and skin by protecting the body from free radicals.

B- Carotene is very effective for senior and elderly people.
